Kennedys launches international arbitration and commercial litigation team

We are very pleased to announce that we have created a new international arbitration and commercial litigation team in London, recognising our expanding contentious corporate and commercial practice.

Headed by partner Ben Aram, the team is already attracting significant amounts of high-value work from large corporates as well as from our traditional insurer client base.

Long-standing clients of Ben’s include Johnson & Johnson, DePuy, RPM International Inc., Standard Industries and R+V Re, as well as a number of family offices and ultra-high net-worth individuals.

The move reinforces our position as a leading global disputes firm across all areas of commercial work, with the new London team adding to our existing UK commercial disputes offering in our Manchester office.

Ben has moved from our insurance division into its growing corporate and commercial division to launch this dedicated team and is supported by senior associates Danny Steel and Alexander Scard, and solicitor Rhys Tebbett. Lateral and internal hires are expected over the coming months.

In the UK, Ben will work alongside partners Katherine Proctor (insurance arbitration, London), Alison Loveday and Reuben Berg (litigation, Manchester). Internationally, Ben will collaborate with the firm’s experts strategically located in the main arbitration hubs across Europe, the Middle-East, North America and Latin America.

Our global arbitration team has extensive experience of conducting cases in the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA), American Arbitration Association (AAA).

Over the past year, we have seen significant growth in the number of instructions from corporates, family offices and high net-worth individuals requiring our international disputes capabilities in highly complex matters. Kennedys is already recognised by its core insurer client base as a global market leader for disputes and my plan is to build a team that lives up to that reputation across all commercial sectors.
