Women in business - London
Being at your best!
As part of our women in business series and to celebrate International Women's day we are delighted to be hosting our next event with Kennedys' Managing Partner, Suzanne Liversidge and special guest speaker Dr Maureen Gaffney.
During the event Dr Gaffney will use her latest research and thinking on emotional intelligence, resilience, and transformational leadership to demonstrate how you can work at becoming 'your best self' and ultimately excel in the ever changing corporate environment. Suzanne will then share her experience and journey into a senior leadership role, highlighting the pitfalls and top tips she learnt along the way.
Guest speaker - Dr Maureen Gaffney
Dr Maureen Gaffney is a well know psychologist, writer and broadcaster, with a special interest and expertise in the science and art of peak performance, being ‘at your best’ at an individual and organisational level. Her book Flourishing which sets out the scientific principles underlying ‘being at your best’ remained in the Irish non-fiction bestseller list for 22 months.
Dr Gaffney has worked with a wide range or organisations, including the Intel organisation, Boston Scientific, Amazon, Google, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft and Bank of Ireland. Every organisation is now under intense pressure to change and innovate, to respond to demands at an ever-quicker pace, and to retain top talent. To do that effectively, and maintain high levels of wellbeing, requires deep reserves of resilience. As a consequence, resilience has become the master emotional competency.
Suzanne is the first female global managing partner to take charge of a UK top 30 law firm, the first female president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce in its 242 year history and she featured in the 2020 The Lawyer Hot 100.
Suzanne is passionate about client service, diversity and inclusion, and the future of the legal industry. In addition to being a member of the Global Strategy Board, Suzanne sits on the firm’s R&D and Innovations Boards, and leads Kennedys’ Women in business network. As a member of Link, the network for LGBT+ insurance professionals and their allies, Suzanne continues to embrace, promote and celebrate the differences that make individuals an asset to the industry.
