We are very pleased to once again be a global gold-level sponsor of Dive in, the international festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance. On Thursday 26 September 2019 we will be hosting a Dive In event titled "Transition in the workplace" at Kennedys' Birmingham office.

Speakers: Rose Taylor, Arup; Brendan Wincott, Guardian Support HR and Khakan Qureshi, Midland Heart in the day and Founder of Finding A Voice

Transition in the workplace is an event that aims to increase professional awareness of the hugely variable journey that people go through when they transition. The process not only affects the person themselves, but also has an impact on their family, friends, support network and workplace.

It is important to remember that there is a social responsibility shared by employers to look out for the emotional and mental well-being of their employees. By increasing the awareness of some of the challenges faced by people at various stages of transition, it is hoped that this event may help to improve consideration, acceptance and support available for those finding themselves on this already tempestuous journey. By receiving the recognition and validation that all employees deserve in the workplace, members of the trans community may feel more empowered, better supported and consequently much more fulfilled in their working life.

The event will consist of a panel of three guest speakers, a question and answer session with all panel members and an opportunity for networking at the end.

With the help of these amazing guest speakers, you will be taken through a journey of self-discovery and struggles at work as shared by Rose Taylor of Rose Taylor from Arup, a collection of real life case studies where transitioning in the workplace has resulted in legal action due to discrimination by Brendan Wincott of Guardian Support, and finally a prominent LBGT activist and member of the community group ‘Finding A Voice’, Khakan Qureshi will be sharing some of his thoughts and his experience of leading Birmingham Pride this year as well as chairing the Q&A session.

If you would like to attend, you must register your attendance on the Dive In Festival events portal.
