James is a Manager within the Kennedys Claims Team, currently assisting in the management of a book of Financial Institution and Professional Indemnity Insurance/Facultative Reinsurance Claims for an MGA within the London Market.

James has over 16 years’ experience of working and supervising claims handling teams, providing guidance and claims handling expertise to Insurers and other Stakeholders. He has considerable experience of dealing with claims from territories across the globe, including from Latin America and the US.

James joined the team from a broking background in 2013 with also has eight years’ experience of broking Commercial Claims, including Commercial Property, and undertaking site visits to provide Clients with technical support and advice in respect of coverage.

Qualifications

  • James read BSC (Hons) Sociology at Bath Spa University and is studying towards his ACII, achieving a distinction and Best Paper P05 Insurance Law in 2012 CII Exams.

Work highlights

  • Acted as Claims Handler on a number of London Market financial lines claims arising from the Columbian healthcare scandal in 2012;
  • Successfully acted on a D&O coverage dispute with a number of parties in Mexico;
  • Significant savings made against reserves following claims made by UK liquidators against an insured director.
