Kadie is a senior associate based in Kennedys’ Sheffield Office. She qualified in England and Wales in 2015.  

Kadie specialises in criminal regulatory defence work, with particular focus on health and safety investigations and prosecutions conducted by the Police and health and safety executive, amongst other regulatory bodies. She also has extensive experience representing companies and individuals at inquests.

Kadie manages a caseload across a wide range of industries including mining, animal rearing and slaughter, construction, demolition, manufacturing and hospitality. This encompasses the representation of both corporate entities, as well as directors and other individuals who may need assistance or representation in relation to a criminal regulatory investigation.

Kadie is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers’ Association, and additionally contributes towards Kennedys’ publications and client alerts concerning regulatory issues. Kadie is an experienced public speaker, regularly delivering training to clients and speaking at industry events

  • Successfully secured a caution in a prosecution brought by the health and safety executive against a corporate entity following a serious workplace incident; a significant outcome within the criminal regulatory field where cautions are very rarely offered.
  • Currently advising an international hotel brand in relation to an investigation by the Police and local authority following a fatal fall from height incident at their premises.
  • Successfully avoided a prosecution by the health and safety executive against an international glass production company following a serious workplace incident involving alleged breaches of Regulation 11 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
  • Continues to advise a ‘very large’ food production company and its subsidiaries in relation to several ongoing investigations and prosecutions by the health and safety executive.
