Tom is a partner in the Manchester office. He qualified in England and Wales in 2008 and specialises in professional indemnity, media and cyber liability.  He leads the firm’s UK cyber interest group and is a member of the Emerging Risks Team.

Tom has extensive experience of defending traditional and emerging professionals, with a particular focus on technology and media professionals, accountants and insurance brokers.  He also advises Insurers on complex coverage issues and the management of cross-border disputes.

In recent years, Tom has developed a considerable practice in cyber liability and data risk.  His work covers the full spectrum of cyber liability and he regularly acts as a breach coach, advises on regulatory notification obligations and defends claims pursued by data subjects following breaches.  He also advises insurers and multi-national corporations on data risk and GDPR compliance.

Tom is a member of the IUA Cyber Claims Committee and is a regular speaker at industry events. 

He is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers, and presents regular lectures and webinars on defence tactics and industry developments.
