Ciara is an Associate in our Dublin office. Since joining Kennedys in 2016, Ciara has specialised in the defence of clinical negligence claims. Ciara also provides healthcare legal advice to a range of clients and has significant experience representing clients at inquest.

Ciara has been particularly involved in representing Medlab Pathology Limited in the Cervical Check litigation, gaining significant trial experience. Ciara is adept at advising insurers on liability and quantum in complex high value litigation.

    Medlab Pathology Limited - Representing Medlab Pathology Limited on instructions from insurers in relation to a large volume of complex high value clinical negligence claims in the Cervical Check litigation. Instructing experts to obtain all breach, causation and quantum evidence and advising insurers on liability, quantum and strategy. Significant success in obtaining indemnity from a co-defendant across the portfolio of claims, saving insurers millions on damages and costs. Extensive mediation and trial experience gained.

    Challenge Indemnity/CNA Hardy/Allied World - Instructed by insurers to represent healthcare professionals, private hospitals and clinics in a variety of matters to include complex catastrophic injury claims, high value fatal accident claims and fertility related claims.  Instructing experts to obtain all breach, causation and quantum evidence and advising insurers on liability, quantum and strategy.

    Representing the HSE across a range of cases involving Connolly Hospital.
