Avinder is a partner in Kennedys’ Birmingham Office. She joined Kennedys in May 2016.

She has over 12 years’ post-qualification experience in the field of healthcare law and specialises in defendant clinical negligence litigation for NHS trusts.

Avinder specialises in dealing with cases of maximum severity, to include claims involving birth injuries resulting in cerebral palsy, Erb’s palsy and neonatal complications. She is also very experienced in dealing with cases in the majority of medical specialisms, to include surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, microbiology and psychiatric damage. 

As an experienced senior member of our healthcare team, an important aspect of her work is to ensure clinicians are supported and kept updated during the lifetime of a claim. She has been described as informative, supportive and knowledgeable by clinicians and midwives.

Avinder has significant trial experience and has also had a number of discontinuances by claimants in the weeks running up to trial resulting in successful defence cost recovery for NHS trusts.

Avinder also has responsibility for the day-to-day training and supervision of lawyers and other members of the Birmingham team. She is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL).
