We are pleased to announce that we have been named Top Employer in Law at the School Leaver Awards, for the second consecutive year.
The Top Employer in Law category recognises the best employers within their industry and is judged based on feedback received from our very own apprentices, as part of a nationwide survey. Alongside ourselves, in an extremely competitive category, was DAC Beachcroft, Eversheds, Gordons, Gowling WLG, Irwin Mitchell, Shoosmiths and Womble Bond Dickinson.
The sixth annual awards ceremony, held at London’s Sheraton Grand Park Lane and hosted by Josh Widdicombe on behalf of AllAboutSchoolLeavers, announced the winners of 36 categories which included high profile names from the arts and media, professional services industry, the world of construction and engineering, retail and city councils.
All winners were recognised for their exemplary work in developing school leaver opportunities: Intermediate Apprenticeships, Advanced Apprenticeships, Higher Apprenticeships, Degree Apprenticeships, school leaver programmes and sponsored degrees.
Since we began recruiting legal apprentices in 2012, we have welcomed 48 across our UK offices. Last year we recruited 13 onto the paralegal apprenticeship scheme (which takes two years to complete) and look set to increase that intake this year. We also expect to see our first intake in 2012 CILEX qualify in 2019.
In 2017 we received a high commendation as Large Employer of the Year at the Apprenticeships for England Awards. Chelmsford-based Legal Apprentice Laura Birks was also named Apprentice of the Year by BPP University Law School – beating 90 other entries in her category to secure the award.
