Kennedys announces double hire and office move in Philadelphia to accommodate continued expansion

We are pleased to announce that we have continued our growth in the United States with our relocation to a new, larger office in Philadelphia, and the addition of Louis Kozloff as partner and Thomas Seery as associate.

We have increased our office space in Philadelphia by moving to 1600 Market Street. The move provides our 15-strong team with an improved working environment and enhanced client suite facilities.

In the two years since we merged with Carroll McNulty & Kull (CMK), we have significantly strengthened our US insurance practice and global capabilities through a number of prominent lateral hires, which has led to a 12% increase in headcount across our offices in New York City, New Jersey, Chicago, Philadelphia, Austin and Miami.

Our new office will provide excellent facilities for client meetings, seminars and entertainment. Philadelphia is an important location for us and for our domestic and international clients.

Arriving as a partner with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance field, Lou represents insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation, and regularly advises insurance industry clients on a wide variety of coverage issues, including directors’ and officers’, errors and omissions, general liability, marine and extra-contractual exposure matters.

Lou graduated from Dartmouth College in 1993 and University of Pittsburgh Law School in 1998, and has experience in both private practice and in-house, having served as Chief Litigation Counsel at Harleysville Insurance. He is widely regarded as a thought leader in the field and is frequently called upon to speak and write on emerging insurance coverage issues.

Tom represents insurers in complex insurance coverage matters and commercial litigation, including general liability, E&O and professional liability, pollution liability, bad faith, commercial property insurance, and construction defect, toxic tort, catastrophic loss, and policy rescission claims. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 2009 and his JD from Villanova University in 2014.

Kennedys partner Chris Carroll, who also sits on our global strategy board, says: “The addition of Lou and Tom marks another phase of our strategic plan to grow the range of services we can deliver to our worldwide clients from the US. They are a perfect fit as they work for several of the same insurer clients and they will be a valuable addition to our existing capabilities. Lou’s experience, in particular, will be invaluable in growing the firm’s Philadelphia office.”

Meg Catalano, US managing partner at Kennedys added: “Our new office will provide excellent facilities for client meetings, seminars and entertainment. Philadelphia is an important location for us and for our domestic and international clients. We’re looking forward to continuing to grow the office.

“I’m delighted that Lou and Tom have joined. Their strategic recruitment sends out a clear message that clients can expect the dual benefit of local expertise within a major global law firm.”
