Karim leads Kennedys’ Research & Development department comprising a team of developers, innovation managers and data scientists who explore the use of cognitive technologies in LawTech and InsurTech, for the benefit of our clients.
Karim’s team have responsibility for developing and maintaining the comprehensive Kennedys Toolkit including technologies that support the entire life cycle of an insurance claim. He is also responsible for the development of all new ideas from concept, to prototype, through to product launch, Karim and his team develop new software and client facing products. He also established Kennedys’ Ideas Lab as an innovation funnel and incubator, ensuring a healthy pipeline of client focused innovative tools.
Prior to joining Kennedys, Karim worked in product development and c-suite roles for EdTech or Educational Technology businesses, developing products and projects for a number of high profile national and international clients. This has included working with PhDs and infield researchers to develop the use of machine learning and natural language processing in order to automate the marking and annotation of open ended unstructured text.
Karim has substantial experience of building and working with development teams both onshore and offshore and has also worked with development teams to adopt lean and agile development practices. He has worked with startups to raise venture capital, secure government grant funding and also to help businesses make the transition from on premise to cloud based application hosting with all the benefits that that can bring.
Karim has a particular interest in the use of machine learning, blockchain, artificial intelligence and intelligent workflow. He has spoken at a number of international events across the world on related topics.
