Ashley is a Senior Associate in Kennedys’ Sydney office specialising in professional indemnity and financial lines insurance litigation. He acts for Australian and London market insurers, underwriting agencies and claims managers, providing coverage, liability and quantum advice and managing the defence of complex claims through to resolution.

Ashley’s principal areas of practice include professional indemnity claims involving solicitors, accountants, financial advisers and other professionals, as well as directors’ and officers’ liability, public liability and occupational disease claims. He has experience conducting and defending proceedings in state courts, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and appellate jurisdictions, and has appeared at mediations, statutory conferences and interlocutory hearings.

Earlier in his career, Ashley practised across Commonwealth workers’ compensation, statutory workers’ compensation and public liability, and worked in class actions and community legal practice, which has strengthened his commercial judgment and client-focused approach. He is a member of both the Law Society of New South Wales and the Law Institute of Victoria.
