Janice is a Senior Associate at our Sheffield Office.
Janice is a dispute resolution and defendant personal injury lawyer with a specialist focus on local authority work. She represents both insurers and local authorities and their external maintenance providers in relation to defendant local authority insurance litigation and personal injury claims. She specialises in employers and public liability matters with a particular emphasis on highway, occupiers liability and employer liability claims. Janice also has an active interest in tree root subsidence claims and Animal Act claims.
Janice advises local authorities in relation to policy and procedure on the highways maintenance code of practice and also advises on strategy and procedure in defending tree root claims.
Janice is an active participant at the national and local association of Local Authority Risk Managers (ALARM) events.
Janice has successfully defended a large number of highway claims and high value occupiers liability claims at Trial. She understands the wider issues that affect local authorities and the importance of protecting and safeguarding reputation.
Janice also provides training on a range of issues affecting the public sector on a broad range of topics.
