Westin McLean is a partner in the Seattle office. His practice encompasses advising and representing insurance companies in complex matters and litigation. He has extensive experience providing coverage opinions and claims handling advice to national and regional insurance carriers regarding all types of property, casualty, automobile, business, specialty, builders risk, professional liability, D&O, employment practices, and commercial general liability policies.
As a seasoned litigator, Westin has a reputation for his knowledge of the law and ability to resolve contentious insurance claims that involve nuanced facts and substantial risk. He has managed a wide range of litigation and appellate matters involving first and third-party insurance coverage, declaratory relief, consent judgments, bad faith, and statutory extracontractual claims in both state and federal courts. His experience and skills have allowed him to achieve favorable resolutions for hundreds of claims through litigation, direct negotiation, and all forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Kennedys, Westin worked at law firms located in the Pacific Northwest that focused on insurance coverage and defending bad faith and casualty claims.
