Ryan is an associate in the New York office, where he focuses his practice on financial lines. He advises domestic and international insurers on complex coverage matters involving directors and officers, buyer-side representations and warranties, financial institutions, professional liability and employment practices liability policies. In addition to providing coverage analysis, Ryan counsels clients on damages, liability and overall policy exposure. His matters have included underlying shareholder class actions, derivative actions, regulatory investigations, merger-related disputes and various types of first-party representations and warranties claims. 

Prior to Kennedys, Ryan served as a summer law clerk at the firm in 2023. Before his summer clerkship at Kennedys, he also gained experience as a summer law clerk at another New York firm, where he worked on financial lines and general liability matters. 

Ryan earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he served as a manuscripts editor and staff member on the University of Richmond Law Review. He received CALI Awards in his mergers & acquisitions and real estate transfers & finance courses.
