Phil Allogramento is a partner in the New Jersey office. He focuses his practice on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and commercial law, banking law and finance and commercial litigation. Phil regularly handles both litigation and transactional work, including the representation of debtors and creditors in chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy cases and with respect to assignments for the benefit of creditors.
Phil has represented individuals, corporations and financial institutions in matters concerning secured transactions, asset sales/purchases, commercial foreclosures/evictions and workouts. He has litigated complex matters in state and federal courts, including fraudulent transfer, preference actions, negotiable instrument litigation and shareholder disputes. He has also assisted debtors with the wind-down of businesses outside of the bankruptcy filing process and represented secured and unsecured clients in all aspects of insolvency law.

Work highlights
- Served as co-counsel to the debtor in a large chapter 11 hospital bankruptcy.
- Represented one of the largest suppliers of merchandising, assembly and installation services in the United States as a chapter 11 debtor that resulted in a successful sale of the debtor’s assets.
- Served as counsel for the debtor in a successful pre-packaged chapter 11 bankruptcy for a real estate holding company.
- Represented a commercial real estate landlord in a bankruptcy dispute involving contested ownership of a liquor license.
- Represented banking institutions and insurance companies in check fraud, unauthorized banking transactions and other issues arising from the Uniform Commercial Code and Federal Regulations.
