Kristy is an Associate in Kennedys Melbourne office specialising in health law with a strong background in litigation and regulatory matters. Kristy has worked in the defence space accumulating experience advising a range of health clients, including medical practitioners, private hospitals, and various other practitioners across a range of matters including civil, disciplinary, regulatory, employment, administrative, and criminal matters. She also has previous experience assisting in the defence of public liability claims brought against a range of entities including schools and supermarkets.
Kristy’s experience in the legal sector also spans to previously working on the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme as a Policy Officer contributing to the delivery of the report of Commissioner Catherine Holmes AC in July 2023. She also worked at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Qld) prior to her admission, where she gained experience in the criminal jurisdiction including bail applications, pre-trial applications, trials, sentences and appeals at all levels.

- Successfully negotiating favourable registration conditions with the Office of the Health Ombudsman (Queensland) following an immediate action taken on a medical practitioner charged with serious criminal offences.
- Acting for medical practitioners in disciplinary proceedings brought by the Medical Board of Australia wherein favourable sanctions were achieved including non-publication orders by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
- Assisting in the defence of an appeal filed by the Medical Board of Australia in the Queensland Court of Appeal regarding orders made in the lower tribunal.
- Successfully achieving settlement, with nil monetary contribution, in a medical negligence claim brought against a surgical assistant.
- Assisting in the efficient settlement of numerous public liability claims prior to formal commencement of proceedings.
