John Gibson

John joined Kennedys in March 2023 as Motor Services Director, based in Manchester. In May 2024 he took up the role of Client Relationship Director for Kennedys UK Liability Division. John’s role is non-legal and market facing; responsible for our engagement with our existing and prospective client base, ensuring we deliver market leading legal services.  

John has over 20 years’ experience in working with the leading UK insurers, re-insurers, brokers and self-insureds. He is best known as a pre-eminent figures in the volume sector, and has a reputation as a respected market leader in credit hire and repair where he has historically specialised. John advises clients on a broad spectrum of issues from market trends, claims inflation, insurer strategy, technological advances, process engineering, to changes in the regulatory and legislative landscape.

In his time in the industry,  he has led multi-award winning teams and has represented insurer clients in some of the leading test litigation in this area over the last decade.

John is regularly asked to speak at industry events and roundtables to provide context and opinion for the insurance press, he regularly advises industry bodies such as the ABI on matters such as the Competition and Markets Authority investigation into the UK motor insurance market.
