Ellie Sowden

Ellie is an associate based in Kennedys’ Manchester office. She qualified in August 2023.

Ellie specialises in employment law and acts for a broad variety of employers and their insurers in the defence of employment tribunal proceedings, from unfair dismissal and breach of contract claims to complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims.

Alongside her work in employment litigation Ellie regularly provides day-to-day practical and commercial advice to employers on a range of employment issues, from managing ill health and performance, conducting disciplinary and grievance processes, changing terms and conditions of employment and business reorganisations/redundancies. Ellie also reviews and drafts employment related contracts, policies / procedures and settlement agreements.

Ellie is involved in providing regular employment law training to commercial and insurer clients.
