Samson Spanier

Samson is a partner in Kennedys’ London office, focusing on commercial litigation, international arbitration, contentious insolvency and financial disputes.

He is a member of the international arbitration and commercial litigation teams.  

Samson’s experience of commercial litigation and arbitration includes share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, sale of goods / commodities, supply of services, commission agreements and enforcing foreign judgments. He has advised on issues involving England’s High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and (for arbitration) LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL rules. He has represented corporates and institutions across a wide range of sectors and business types, including professional services, commodities, specialist machinery, finance and fintech.

He deals with all aspects of contentious insolvency and restructuring, including liquidation, administration, bankruptcy, subordination, applications to obtain evidence, transactions at an undervalue, directors’ duties, restructuring plans, prepacks and bond solicitations. He acts for insolvency practitioners, creditors and debtors.

Samson acts on all aspects of financial and banking disputes, including loans, ISDA master agreements, repo agreements, bond issuances, corporate trusts, securitisation and structured finance.

Additionally, he has acted both for and against sovereign states / government agencies.

Samson advises on all aspects of commercial fraud. This has included worldwide freezing injunctions, proprietary injunctions, gagging orders, asset tracing, non-party disclosure, and bringing or defending claims for fraudulent misrepresentation, deceit, conspiracy and trust assets.
