Jessica is an associate and notary public in the Kennedys’ Edinburgh office. More recently since joining Kennedys, Jessica is working on claims related to historic abuse, representation at the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry, breach of contract claims, negligence claims and defending PI claims.

Jessica holds dual law degrees from Mauritius and Scotland and is proficient in Mauritian, English, French and Scots law. Before joining Kennedys, she worked at full-service Scottish  law firm where she represented clients in commercial litigation, employment disputes and general civil disputes. Her cross-jurisdictional training allows her to tackle legal challenges from multiple angles and support clients navigating both domestic and international matters.

Originally from Mauritius, Jessica graduated with honours from the University of Mauritius in 2014 and moved to Scotland in 2015. She completed the fast-track LLB at Robert Gordon University and earned her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice with distinction.

Alongside her practice, Jessica is committed to advancing legal education and driving industry-wide inclusion. She has prepared and delivered external training sessions on topics including climate change litigation, the Data Protection Act 2018, employer’s health and safety obligations, and the Equality Act 2010. In collaboration with a Sheriff, Jessica also co-presented training on Introduction to Scottish Court procedures and participated in a mock tribunal organised by CIPD Scotland to support member training.

Her passion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is woven into her professional identity. Jessica has organised D,E&I-focused training initiatives across the legal industry, with a particular interest in neurodiversity and inclusive practice. Within Kennedys, she is a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group and the EMBRACE network. Externally, she is a member of the Law Society of Scotland and the Aberdeen Bar Association, where she also served as Vice President for civil matters during the 2023–2024 term.

Whether representing businesses in contentious matters or supporting industry-wide education and reform, she is committed to empowering people through knowledge and clarity.
