Donna Reynolds

Donna is a legal director based in the Edinburgh employment team.

Donna is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in both Employment Law and Discrimination Law and advises on all aspects of employment law and HR issues.

In litigation, Donna regularly represents clients in the Employment Tribunal in claims involving unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, whistleblowing and employment status. Donna’s dual accreditation underpins her authority in sensitive and high-stakes cases, and she is recognised for delivering clear, pragmatic advocacy that protects both business and reputational interests. She also advises on negotiated settlements, exit arrangements, and multi-party employment disputes.

Beyond contentious matters, Donna provides practical, commercial advice on strategic HR and employment issues including disciplinary and grievance processes, performance management, absence management, workplace investigations and disability-related matters. She also advises on redundancies, reorganisations, TUPE transfers, employment contracts and policy drafting.

Donna’s broad client base is broad, but a distinctive feature of her approach is the insight she brings from advising both employers and employees. This breadth of perspective enables her to anticipate areas of risk and deliver advice that is legally robust and commercially realistic. She is known for providing clear, straightforward guidance which allows clients to make confident and informed decisions.

Donna is also active in thought leadership and professional development. She regularly provides tailored training sessions for clients, helping employers understand changes in employment law and apply best practice across their organisations.

Donna is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association,  a committee member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Professional Practice Committee and a council member of The Society of Writers to His Majesty’s Signet.
