For the fourth year running, we have been recognised for our commitment to driving diversity in leadership. The firm has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for 2024-2025 in both the UK and US.
Mansfield, run by the Diversity Lab, is a year-long structured certification process designed to ensure all qualified talent at participating law firms has a transparent, fair and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership. The focus is on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are inclusive for everyone, including historically underrepresented lawyers.
Marianne Blattès, Senior Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager, said: “Kennedys is proud to achieve Mansfield Certification Plus in both the UK and US once again. We continue to embed the Mansfield Rule into our decision-making and are taking active steps to ensure that our pathways to leadership are clear, open and transparent for all qualified lawyers, a commitment evidenced by women now making up 60% of our Executive Group.”
The Mansfield Rule, which launched in the US in 2017 and was rolled out to the UK in 2021, came from a winning pitch in Diversity Lab’s Women in Law Hackathon, a collaboration between Stanford Law School and Bloomberg Law. It is named after America’s first female lawyer, Arabella Mansfield.
By ensuring all lawyers have a fair opportunity to succeed, we are better equipped to serve our clients and our communities.
