Kennedys held a special event to celebrate the launch of Spilka, a legal professionals’ community established with the aim of fostering collaboration and understanding between the legal professions in Ukraine and other countries.
Spilka's mission is to foster a supportive and collaborative community by connecting network members with legal professionals from all over the world.
The event was attended by over 130 guests, virtually and in-person in London, and provided an opportunity for meaningful discussion regarding the role that insurance and businesses can play in the process of Ukraine’s recovery. The discussion was timed to take place just ahead of the international Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023 hosted jointly by the United Kingdom and Ukraine this week in London.
“This was a momentous event and effort, reaching across borders. It really was the result of a great team effort and joint commitment. We will be able to effect important and meaningful change in the weeks and months to come to support recovery in Ukraine by working together.”
The panel was chaired by well-known Ukrainian TV broadcaster, Olia Freimut, with a number of distinguished speakers participating, including senior figures from the highest levels of Ukrainian government and Embassy of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Nick Williams, and Kennedys US partner, Chris Carroll.
Commenting on the importance of this event and collaboration with Spilka, partner Nick Williams said: “I know that the success and resulting impact of helping to convene and connect this group will help to make a positive difference to lots of people on an ongoing basis.
