Rodrigo is a Senior Associate in our Chile office and specialises in insurance law.

He was admitted to practice in 2007 and holds a Master of Laws in Financial Services Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Laws, specialising in insurance law (marine and non-marine), from the University of London by UCL and Queen Mary, as well as a Master of Laws in Business Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica De Chile.

Rodrigo regularly advises insurers, both P&C and Life, and reinsurers on regulatory matters as well as in claims related issues, including but not limited to the production of legal opinions, policy wordings and policy interpretation and distribution structures. He is well versed in both marine and non-marine insurance and reinsurance.
With experience working in various in-house roles at large global and domestic insurance companies, including senior underwriter, assistant general counsel for Chile and legal counsel, Rodrigo is able to offer different perspectives and insight to clients.

He is a member of the Chilean Chapter of International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA) and co-editor of the AIDA Chile Journal of Insurance Law. He is also a member of the Selden Society, devoted to English legal history. Rodrigo is also professor at the Graduate Diploma in Insurance Law delivered between Universidad de los Andes (CL) and the Insurance School of Chile.

He is currently working towards requalifying as a Solicitor for England and Wales through the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS).
