Directors and officers liability
We have one of the most experienced teams in directors and officers (D&O) liability in the market, having been involved in the creation of the first D&O insurance product in the UK.
Our global team of insurance practitioners represent insurers throughout the world involving the liability of directors and officers at public companies, private companies, nonprofit entities, investment trusts, mutual funds, hedge funds, as well as limited and general partnerships. We assess coverage, prepare coverage opinions, and investigate D&O liability claims, as well as defend coverage actions in courts and at arbitration.
The global team act for directors and officers, as well as their companies, in a wide range of industries - in both the civil and criminal arena. This includes the defence of claims, and managing, monitoring and coordinating the defence in many jurisdictions.
Many of the claims we manage are complex or have an international aspect. We have been instructed on many of the London, US and Bermuda markets most high-profile claims. Our global network of offices and associate offices enable us to handle matters for clients seamlessly, wherever they may occur in the world.
We also regularly defend managers and entities in connection with wrongful trading/insolvency claims, employment, health and safety, white collar crime, civil fraud, regulatory and environmental matters.
Our strong insurance and commercial departments are able to provide support where particular experience is required.
