Amanda is a Senior Associate in our Manchester employment team. She specialises in the conduct of employment matters, acting for employers and insurers, as well as advising on HR-related aspects of GDPR and data protection. Amanda is widely praised for her commercial and pragmatic approach.
An experienced Employment Tribunal advocate, Amanda conducts contentious employment matters across the whole spectrum of employment law, including unfair dismissal, breach of contract, complex discrimination cases, industrial relations and TUPE-related claims.
Amanda also supports commercial clients on non-contentious employment-related issues, operating employment law helplines advising on general day-to-day issues as well as providing more strategic advice including supporting HR professionals and line managers in the conduct of disciplinary and grievance issues, TUPE transfers, business reorganisations and redundancies, managed exits and settlement agreements, managing attendance and performance, dignity at work and data protection.
A key part of Amanda’s role is ensuring businesses are kept up to date in terms of changes in legislation and case law and importantly, the impact those changes may have. She is an experienced trainer, writing and delivering both bespoke training sessions for clients and open public courses on a wide range of employment law issues and updates.
More recently Amanda has also been conducting GDPR / data protection audits for clients, advising on compliance issues as well as conducting training and undertaking contract and policy reviews.
