Kennedys relocates to new offices in Bermuda

To accommodate the firm's growth, we have relocated to new offices in Bermuda.

The Bermuda team, which has been operating in Bermuda since 2006, became part of Kennedys in 2017. The team has since expanded to 10 lawyers, including four partners. They are now located in a fresh, modern space on the third floor of the Maxwell Roberts Building at 1 Church Street, Hamilton, Bermuda. 

Commenting on the move, Mark Chudleigh, managing partner in Bermuda, said: “We’re thrilled to transition into this larger space, which not only accommodates our growing team but also ensures we are better located to serve our clients.”

Our Bermuda office advises clients on some of the largest and most complex legal issues facing insurers, reinsurers, banks, investment funds, trustees, unregulated companies, shareholders and financial services and professional service providers. Its key practice areas are insurance and reinsurance, commercial litigation, corporate and finance.

The team’s extensive international and local experience, with lawyers having practised both ‘onshore’ and ‘offshore’, combines with Kennedys’ global network to place them amongst the leading law firms in Bermuda.

The dispute resolution and insurance/reinsurance teams are ranked in Tier 2 in The Legal 500 Caribbean 2024. Partner Mark Chudleigh is ranked as a Leading Individual in both the insurance/reinsurance and dispute resolution categories, with partner Nick Miles also ranked as a Leading Individual for insurance and reinsurance. Additionally, partner Laura Williamson received the accolade of Next Generation Partner for dispute resolution.

Last year, as part of our continued growth, Kennedys welcomed partner Simon Benedek, a leading banking, finance and corporate law expert to the Bermuda office. The team continues to be on the lookout for talented lawyers to join its busy practice as it goes from strength to strength.

This is the latest in a series of office openings and relocations, with our US footprint hitting double digits as we opened in Fort Lauderdale, and our Dubai office moving into the World Trade Centre complex.
