  • Handled all aspects of shipping and admiralty practice comprising of both bulk dry cargoes as well as liquid cargoes, charter party disputes, collision claim and salvage claims.
  • Appointed to act in numerous claims pertaining to international sale of goods and had conduct of arbitrations in Singapore, Hong Kong and London pertaining to international sale of commodities, including the related trade finance disputes.

  • Represented various Chinese State Owned Enterprises involved in international arbitrations arising from disputes in the sale and purchase of commodities including coal and iron ore.
  • Advised an offshore oil and gas service provider in relation to the acquisition of assets valued at US$42 million.
  • Defended a ship owner of a VLCC in the High Court of Singapore against a claim by stevedores for injuries sustained on board the vessel during discharging operations.
  • Acted for an Indian commodity trader in an arbitration in Singapore against a Hong Kong trader for breach of a sale and purchase contract arising from the ban of export of iron ore from the State of Kartanaka, India.
  • Acted for a Singapore commodity trader in obtaining urgent injunction against the bank to prevent payment out under the letter of credit arising from an alleged fraud by the beneficiaries.
  • Acted for a ship owner in the High Court of Singapore claiming against the H&M insurer for damage to the crankshaft of the vessel arising from crew’s negligence.
  • Acted for a ship owner and advising the ship owner following from a fire on board the vessel which resulted in the vessel being a total loss, including advising the ship owner in relation to the claims by the cargo interests, general average, salvage and claims against the insurer.
  • Acted for a Singapore offshore oil and gas company against a Norwegian company in an ICC arbitration in London for breach of contract worth US$10 million.
