Leading insurance specialist to join Kennedys to lead its property, construction and energy offering in Singapore

Kennedys will welcome Mark Errington as a partner in Singapore. Mark will join Kennedys from RPC in Singapore in July 2024.

Mark is a leading insurance and reinsurance dispute resolution specialist, with a particular focus on property, construction and engineering, power and energy, terrorism and political violence, and associated business interruption/DSU claims. He has been based in Singapore for nearly 25 years and launched RPC’s Asia operation back in 2012. Mark advises clients across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Mark has been ranked as a Band 1 Insurance lawyer by Chambers Asia Pacific for the last 13 years, and he is recognised by The Legal 500 as a Leading Individual for Insurance. He is also listed in Euromoney’s prestigious “Best of the Best Global” Guide as one of the world’s top insurance and reinsurance practitioners, and has been recommended since 2016 in Who’s Who Legal for Insurance & Reinsurance Singapore.

Mark also has significant arbitration experience and regularly acts on subrogated recovery actions globally, mainly arising out of power generation and large commercial property losses.

Mark is the Founder and President of the Asia Power Forum Conference, and a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Singapore Insurance Institute and Singapore Society of Construction Law.

Julian Wallace, Joint Managing Partner, Kennedys Legal Solutions, says, “Mark’s breadth of expertise and depth of knowledge in property damage liability and claims in the power, infrastructure and energy space will prove invaluable to both our local and our international client base. His level of experience and technical excellence are widely respected across his areas of practice, in Singapore and beyond. We are very much looking forward to him joining the team.”

Matt Andrews, Regional Managing Partner, APAC says, “As a business, our vision is to be a leading global legal risk advisory firm which has support for the insurance industry at its core so I am very pleased that Mark will be joining the firm as we continue to support our insurance clients here in Asia Pacific and across our global network.”

Kennedys has a market-leading insurance practice in Singapore, consistently recognised by Chambers Asia Pacific and The Legal 500.

We have been present in Singapore since 2008, and in 2015 established a joint law venture (JLV) with Legal Solutions to create Kennedys Legal Solutions. Kennedys is one of the few international law firms in Singapore operating under a JLV, which allows the firm to provide clients with a significantly enhanced offering of a seamless suite of services across both English and Singapore law.
