What do we use cookies for?

Google Analytics

  • Names: _ga, _gat, _utma, _utmb, _utmc_utmz, _utmv
  • Purpose: These cookies are used to collect information about how people are using our site, to help us understand how we can improve it. Google Analytics collects information in an anonymous form such as pages visited, browser and operating system used and time spent viewing pages. We do not allow Google to use or share our analytics data.

Google maps

  • Name: NID 
  • Purpose: We embed Google maps on our office pages to help you to locate our buildings. These are third-party cookies which Google may set on your computer when you view the maps.

Splash page

  • Name: DisplaySplashPage
  • Purpose: These cookies are used to determine users who have already viewed the Kennedys CMK splash page and to not display it to them on subsequent visits.

Mode of collection of personal data

You can email us from the Contact us page if you have any enquiries. To enable us to reply to you, we will need your name and email address. Other information such as your title, phone number and company name are optional.

If you want to receive any of our publications or articles, you can use our online subscription form. We will need your name, company, job title, city and email address.

Type of information collected

Apart from the information that you voluntarily provide to us, we collect no personal data about you, and we do not collect more personal data than is necessary for a particular purpose. On our website, the only instances where you are required to provide us with your personal data are when you submit an email enquiry from the ‘Contact us’ page or subscribe to our publications.

Purpose of collection

We require this information to respond to your queries and requests in a timely manner, and to provide you with a better service.

Information sharing with third parties

We do not transfer your personal data to anyone else unless: 

  • It is necessary for the legal services that we provide to you. In the course of carrying out your instructions we may need to transfer your personal data information to countries which do not provide the same level of data protection as the UK. This is most likely to involve a transfer to our international offices. In that event, we will put in place appropriate arrangements to ensure that your information will be adequately protected.
  • It relates to the administration of the firm's relationship with you. We may disclose your personally identifiable information to another entity if (i) we are running an event in conjunction with them or ii) they are speaking at one of our events. We will only provide your name, job title and company. No other information will be shared.
  • We are compelled to do so by the law or a court order.

Security

We are committed to keeping your personal data and records confidential. Our network is protected by an industry standard firewall and uses SSL and encryption, in addition to secure email encryption between ourselves and our clients.

Your personal data will only be handled by a defined number of staff, who all have the integrity to keep your personal data confidential, and to use it only for the purpose for which it was collected. Each staff member in our firm has their own password to log in to their email account, so your message sent to a particular person cannot be opened by mistake.

Retention

We only keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose.

We may use personal information provided by you in order to conduct appropriate identity checks. Personal information that you provide may be disclosed to a credit reference or fraud prevention agency, which may keep a record of that information.

Right to access

We need your help to keep the personal data which we hold as accurate and up-to-date as possible. Please tell us if there is any change to your information.
